Help & FAQ
MedibandPlus help & FAQ
Answers about your online medical ID — how it works, who can see it, your Mediband, and membership. In an emergency, responders can go to medibp.com and enter a member number.
Getting started
What is MedibandPlus?
MedibandPlus is a secure online medical profile. It stores your conditions, allergies, medications, blood type, immunisations and emergency contacts, and lets first responders see them in seconds when you can’t speak for yourself.
Is MedibandPlus right for me?
It’s for anyone whose health could be hard to explain in an emergency — people with a medical condition, multiple allergies or regular medications, frequent travellers, and parents or carers looking after children or older family members.
How much does it cost?
Personal membership is $19/year and Family (up to 4 profiles) is $49/year, GST included, with no joining fee. You can prepay two or three years and save — see the pricing page.
Do I need a Mediband product to use it?
No. Your profile works with just your membership number or QR code, which you can save to your phone or print. A Mediband wristband or card is optional, for a durable version you can wear.
Using your medical ID
How do first responders access my information?
They scan your QR code, or go to the short web address medibp.com and enter your MedibandPlus membership number — no app and no login needed. Your emergency profile opens in seconds.
Is there a short web address responders can use?
Yes. In an emergency a responder can go to medibp.com and enter your MedibandPlus membership number to open your profile in seconds — it’s short and quick to type when every second counts. Scanning your QR code does the same thing.
How does the QR code work?
Your membership includes a QR code you can print, attach or engrave onto a Mediband product. Scanning it with any smartphone opens your medical profile instantly.
What should I put on my Mediband or wallet card?
We recommend an ICE (In Case of Emergency) line pointing to your profile — for example: “ICE: medibp.com — MedibandPlus member [your code]”. In an emergency a responder visits medibp.com, enters that number (or scans your QR code), and your profile opens.
How do I add my membership number to a custom bracelet?
On any custom Mediband order, choose “Yes” for the MedibandPlus option on the product page and we’ll include your membership details.
Does it work when I’m travelling?
Yes. Your profile is online, so any responder with your membership number or QR code can open it — at home, interstate or overseas.
In an emergency
What should I do in a medical emergency?
Call your local emergency number first, then follow DRSABCD — check for Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, CPR and Defibrillation. If the person is unconscious but breathing, place them in the recovery position.
Emergency numbers: Australia 000 · New Zealand 111 · UK & Ireland 999 · US & Canada 911 · Hong Kong 999 · South Africa 10177 (ambulance) · across the EU 112. On most mobile phones, 112 also connects you to local emergency services.
Our free step-by-step guides walk through DRSABCD, the recovery position and anaphylaxis first aid.
How does MedibandPlus help in an emergency?
If you can’t speak for yourself, a responder scans your QR code or enters your membership number at medibp.com and immediately sees your conditions, medications, allergies and emergency contacts — so they can treat you safely and contact the right person.
Privacy & security
Who can access my MedibandPlus information?
Anyone with your membership code can view the emergency details you’ve chosen to share. Only you can change your profile, using a private password.
How is my information kept private?
You set a privacy level for every field — Public, Hospitals only, or Private — so sensitive details stay restricted while the essentials are available to responders.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Your information is encrypted and stored on an Australian-based service.
Membership
What if I lose my Mediband or wallet card?
Generate a new membership number from the “Lost band?” section of your member area and reorder a replacement anytime — your profile stays intact.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There’s no lock-in contract — you can cancel anytime.
